I am an assistant professor of history at the University of Utah. Before pursuing my history PhD at Columbia University, I worked for five years in national security and foreign policy positions in the U.S. government focused on South Asia and cyber issues. I left my government career because I am passionate about teaching and mentoring.
In addition to my history graduate work at Columbia, I received a BA in History from Davidson College and a MPP in International Security and Political Economy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
I spend my free time hanging out with Jackson the dog and with Eliza, who is working with the Sorenson Impact Institute to tackle poverty and inequality in the United States.
